If I could go back to my younger me in my 20’s I would tell myself the importance of a positive mindset that would not lead to depression, anxiety, anger, and low self-esteem.  I would tell myself to set intentions to structure my day for my benefit and the benefit of my family.

You wake up in the morning thinking about your problems.  Your problems are linked to people and money for the most part and all of these are linked to memories.  Memories remind you of past experiences and are linked to emotions of suffering, pain, hurt, sadness, doubt, and fears. How you think and how you feel creates your state of being. If you’re thinking of memories then you’re starting your day in the past.  Therefore your entire state of being is in the past, and this is how you possibly start your day.

The familiar past will be the predictable future as said by Joe Dispenza, and how true this is?  Clients fear letting go of past experiences so they don’t forget the lessons.  By doing this though, you continue to live those past experiences making yourself depressed as you relive them again and again.  The result? You continue to create the same life for yourself.  You then go through the same routine each day creating once again, the same experiences. By doing all this you lose your free will to create the life you choose to have.

A positive mindset to accept the flow of life is less of a struggle and less emotionally draining.  I am not saying only live positively – this is not the way either.  I am saying set a positive mindset and intend for how you would like your day to go and then accept that both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ can happen.

What you can do to change your life:

  • Change your perception about everything that is troubling you or you feel is causing your suffering;
  • Accept that people are our teachers, not our enemies;
  • Decide how your day is going to go with morning rituals;

Here are various rituals that the most successful people in the world do.  These practices condition their minds in order to structure their day.  Start with choosing 2-4 steps from this list to start with:

  1. Wake up early to set your intentions for the day;
  2. Get beyond the analytical mind that fires up when you allow it to start thinking about problems, negative past experiences and allowing your feelings to take over;
  3. Change your brainwaves through daily Meditation. Start with 5 minutes a day if need be, and then increase the time every week.  Meditation is NOT what it is perceived to be, which for some is: ‘arty-farty spiritual nonsense’.  When you meditate you take control of your life and of your brain, your awareness, and your reactions to everything.  Slowing down and learning to stop the thoughts in your head is more powerful than an overactive mind;
  4. Write down 3-5 affirmations and connect with every word. Write them out once and read them 3 times, and again, connect with each word;
  5. Set an exercise routine at least three times a day;
  6. Decide what your values are and live your life according to your values. People who don’t accept you and your values are not worth having in your life;
  7. Get a good night’s sleep;
  8. Consciously think greater than how you feel;
  9. Eat healthily;
  10. Tony Robbins, meditates and also jumps into hot and cold pools
  11. Steve Jobs has for the last 33 years, looked in the mirror every day and asks himself: If today were the last day of my life, would I do what I am about to do today?  If the answer is ‘no’ for a few days, then he changes what he is doing;
  12. Lady Gaga does yoga, and self-directed love and thoughts;
  13. Write down 3-5 things that you are grateful for. Connect with every word as you read it three times;
  14. Write down 3-5 things that you did right for that day or from the day before to lift your energy. It also stops you from focusing on the negative.

Choose 2-3 positive actions from the list above to structure the day that works for you and it won’t feel like a chore.  Once you are ready, choose another and keep going to make this life your best life.
